Algester Childcare & Daycare

A warm, well-run early learning centre for Algester children aged 15 months to 5 years.

A Room for Every Stage of Your Child’s Growing Up

Children do not stay the same for long, and neither should the space they spend their days in. Ancora Kids is built around age-specific rooms, so a toddler finding their feet and a four-year-old preparing for Prep each get an environment pitched at exactly where they are. Your child moves up when they are ready, with educators who already know them and a room they have visited many times before.

Algester families are welcome here from 15 months right through to the kindy year. The same team sees your child through all of it.

Ten Minutes From Home, and Easy at Both Ends of the Day

We are about ten minutes from Algester, at 5 Trebeck Street in Browns Plains. Inside, bright learning rooms open onto shaded outdoor areas designed for climbing, digging and running, so children move between the two through the day rather than being kept in one. Doors open at 6am and close at 6pm, there is parking on site, and drop-off is quick enough that it does not eat into your morning.

What our families say…

Outstanding Care and Support! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"My child was initially quite shy and sensitive to new environments, but the educators at Ancora Kids Browns Plains have been incredible. Their care, patience, and skill in supporting each child truly stand out. Since starting, my son has grown so much in confidence—he now comes home singing songs and excitedly talking about what he learned during group time. I'm so proud of his progress and couldn't be happier with the nurturing and enriching environment Ancora provides. Highly recommend!"
Exceeded All Expectations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"My grandson is enrolled in the 2024 kindy program, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The staff at Ancora Kids Browns Plains are absolutely amazing—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to the well-being of each child. In just a few months, my grandson has developed wonderful social skills and learned so much. The centre is always clean and well-maintained, and the educational program is broad, engaging, and clearly supports early learning. I highly recommend this centre—they’ve truly exceeded all my expectations!"
Thank You for Everything! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"We’ve absolutely loved our time at Ancora. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our family is relocating and our son will no longer be attending. Over the past several months, the support, care, and dedication from the Ancora team has been nothing short of amazing. You've helped our son grow in so many ways—socially, emotionally, and developmentally—and we are beyond grateful for the nurturing environment you've provided. We're genuinely heartbroken to be leaving such a wonderful centre, but we’ll always carry the warm memories with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You truly rock, Ancora!"
A Wonderful Place for Our Daughter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"I just want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. Since joining the Oasis class, my daughter has absolutely loved her time at the centre—she even wants to go on the weekends! It’s been so rewarding to see her come home happy, excited, and full of new things she’s learned each day. The positive impact Ancora Kids has had on her development is clear, and we’re so grateful for the love and care she receives from her educators."
Truly Grateful for the Amazing Educators ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"Our appreciation for the team at Ancora Kids Browns Plains goes a long way. You've always been so helpful, supportive, and professional. While every teacher at the centre is fantastic, I just want to say how honoured we are to have such dedicated and caring educators supporting our child. The kindness and effort you put into your work have made such a positive impact, and we’re truly grateful."

Our Early Learning Programs

Our curriculum is play-based, which does not mean unstructured. Each week follows a rhythm children can predict, with five threads running through it:

Social Focus

The social part of our program is based on our philosophy of fostering empathy, compassion and grit in kids. Our centre is a secure, caring environment where children build confidence and discover a joy for learning.

Health & wellbeing

We use play, song and stories to develop essential skills and teach children about health, hygiene and self-care. This includes choosing and making healthy meals, bathing, dressing, hair care, toileting and toothbrushing.

Maths Icon

Community

We build a sense of community by fostering friendships, providing support to families, and through family involvement. The kids engage with the community through local schools, aged-care centres and other activities.

Music Icon

Growth

Our centre helps children grow their kindness, empathy and emotional awareness and regulation. They gain real-life, hands-on experience, physical development such as balance and motor skills.

Art Icon

Sustainability

Young people play an important role in caring for the environment. Our vegetable garden teaches children about food cycles and choices, and marked bins help them learn about sustainable waste management.

Meet Our Educators

Ms. Liesl – Centre Director

I am Liesl, the current director at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. I have been working in the centre for 5 years. My qualifications include: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

As director at Ancora Kids, I am passionate about creating holistic, nurturing environments where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and thrive. At the heart of our philosophy are the values of Empathy, Compassion, and GRIT—Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity. I believe that when children are supported with love, respect, and opportunity, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, curiosity, and potential.
My teaching approach is inspired by a blend of Montessori and Steiner philosophies. I value providing hands-on, real-life learning experiences that build independence and practical skills, while also fostering creativity through play-based and imaginative exploration. I also embrace the importance of early exposure to STEAM learning and second language development as vital tools for the future.
I see families as a child’s first and most important teachers. Building strong, respectful partnerships with parents helps create a safe and connected learning environment, where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. My goal is to nurture children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, supporting them in becoming confident, compassionate individuals ready for the next stage of their journey.
At Ancora Kids, I am proud to lead a team that values reflective practice, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to preparing children today, for a better tomorrow.

FAQs

Choosing a daycare is an important decision. Below are answers to some common questions parents ask:

Fees, Child Care Subsidy and attendance

About a ten-minute drive, roughly 6km, and there is on-site parking so drop-off stays quick.

From 15 months to five years, across age-specific rooms. Children move up as they are ready, not on a set date, and they visit their next room with their educators well before they change over.

Algester children most often head to Algester State School or St Stephen’s Catholic Primary. Our school-readiness program is built around the transition into Prep generally, so it prepares your child whichever school you choose.

Yes, and they are proper meals rather than snacks. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are cooked on site, with dietary requirements catered for.

Most families pay a gap fee between $15 and $50 per day once the Child Care Subsidy is applied. The exact figure depends on your CCS percentage and approved hours from Centrelink, and we can work through an estimate with you on a tour.

We start with orientation visits before the first full day, so your child meets their educators and room while you are still there. Settling plans are individual. Some children need two visits, others need a fortnight of short days, and we follow your child’s pace rather than a timetable.

6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Tours run during operating hours, take about twenty minutes, and you will see the rooms in use rather than tidied for a viewing.
