Drewvale Childcare & Daycare

A calm, well-run early learning centre for Drewvale families, with places from 15 months.

What “Learning Through Play” Actually Looks Like

The phrase gets used loosely, so it is worth being specific. When our children build a tower and it falls, they are learning about balance and persistence. When they set a table for morning tea, they are counting and matching. When they argue over a turn and work it out, they are learning more about negotiation than any worksheet could teach. Educators plan for all of it, then step back and let it happen.

Drewvale children join us from 15 months and stay through the kindy year, in rooms grouped by age so the play is pitched at the right level.

A Short Drive, With Room to Move When You Get Here

Ancora Kids sits at 5 Trebeck Street in Browns Plains, a short drive from Drewvale. Our rooms are bright and purpose-built, and they open onto shaded outdoor areas where children dig, climb, ride and garden. Doors open at 6am and close at 6pm, and there is on-site parking, so drop-off does not turn into a detour.

What our families say…

Outstanding Care and Support! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"My child was initially quite shy and sensitive to new environments, but the educators at Ancora Kids Browns Plains have been incredible. Their care, patience, and skill in supporting each child truly stand out. Since starting, my son has grown so much in confidence—he now comes home singing songs and excitedly talking about what he learned during group time. I'm so proud of his progress and couldn't be happier with the nurturing and enriching environment Ancora provides. Highly recommend!"

"My grandson is enrolled in the 2024 kindy program, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The staff at Ancora Kids Browns Plains are absolutely amazing—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to the well-being of each child. In just a few months, my grandson has developed wonderful social skills and learned so much. The centre is always clean and well-maintained, and the educational program is broad, engaging, and clearly supports early learning. I highly recommend this centre—they’ve truly exceeded all my expectations!"
Thank You for Everything! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"We’ve absolutely loved our time at Ancora. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our family is relocating and our son will no longer be attending. Over the past several months, the support, care, and dedication from the Ancora team has been nothing short of amazing. You've helped our son grow in so many ways—socially, emotionally, and developmentally—and we are beyond grateful for the nurturing environment you've provided. We're genuinely heartbroken to be leaving such a wonderful centre, but we’ll always carry the warm memories with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You truly rock, Ancora!"
A Wonderful Place for Our Daughter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Since joining the Oasis class, my daughter has absolutely loved her time at the centre—she even wants to go on the weekends! It’s been so rewarding to see her come home happy, excited, and full of new things she’s learned each day. The positive impact Ancora Kids has had on her development is clear, and we’re so grateful for the love and care she receives from her educators."

Social Focus

The social part of our program is based on our philosophy of fostering empathy, compassion and grit in kids. Our centre is a secure, caring environment where children build confidence and discover a joy for learning.

Health & wellbeing

We use play, song and stories to develop essential skills and teach children about health, hygiene and self-care. This includes choosing and making healthy meals, bathing, dressing, hair care, toileting and toothbrushing.

Maths Icon

Community

We build a sense of community by fostering friendships, providing support to families, and through family involvement. The kids engage with the community through local schools, aged-care centres and other activities.

Music Icon

Growth

Our centre helps children grow their kindness, empathy and emotional awareness and regulation. They gain real-life, hands-on experience, physical development such as balance and motor skills.

Art Icon

Sustainability

Young people play an important role in caring for the environment. Our vegetable garden teaches children about food cycles and choices, and marked bins help them learn about sustainable waste management.

Meet Our Educators

Ms. Liesl – Centre Director

I am Liesl, the current director at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. I have been working in the centre for 5 years. My qualifications include: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

As director at Ancora Kids, I am passionate about creating holistic, nurturing environments where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and thrive. At the heart of our philosophy are the values of Empathy, Compassion, and GRIT—Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity. I believe that when children are supported with love, respect, and opportunity, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, curiosity, and potential.
My teaching approach is inspired by a blend of Montessori and Steiner philosophies. I value providing hands-on, real-life learning experiences that build independence and practical skills, while also fostering creativity through play-based and imaginative exploration. I also embrace the importance of early exposure to STEAM learning and second language development as vital tools for the future.
I see families as a child’s first and most important teachers. Building strong, respectful partnerships with parents helps create a safe and connected learning environment, where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. My goal is to nurture children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, supporting them in becoming confident, compassionate individuals ready for the next stage of their journey.
At Ancora Kids, I am proud to lead a team that values reflective practice, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to preparing children today, for a better tomorrow.

FAQs

Choosing a daycare near Drewvale is an important decision. Below are answers to some common questions parents ask:

Fees, Child Care Subsidy and attendance

Around fifteen minutes, and there is parking on site when you arrive.

Continuously, and it is planned. Educators set up experiences with specific outcomes in mind, then document what each child does with them. You will see the learning recorded against your child’s development, not just photographs of a fun day.

There is no school inside Drewvale, so children generally go on to Stretton State College or Calamvale Community College. Our school-readiness program focuses on the underlying capabilities rather than one school’s routine: following instructions, sustaining attention, early literacy and numeracy, and managing themselves independently.

Our youngest long day care room takes children from 15 months. Availability changes month to month, so enquire with your preferred days and we will tell you what is open and what a wait would realistically look like.

Most families pay between $15 and $50 per day. Your CCS percentage and approved hours, both set by Centrelink, decide where you sit in that range.

Included, and substantial. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, prepared in our kitchen with dietary requirements catered for.

6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Please do. Tours run during opening hours, take about twenty minutes, and you will see the rooms as they actually operate rather than tidied for a viewing.
