Children Who Are Used to Being Outside Stay Outside Here

Some centres treat outdoor time as a break from learning. We do not. Our outdoor areas are set up for digging, climbing, riding, water play and gardening, and children move between inside and outside through the day rather than being sent out for a fixed half hour. Every space is shaded, we monitor UV, and wide-brimmed hats are worn, because Queensland sun is not something to improvise around.

Forestdale families are welcome from 15 months through the kindy year, with places at 5 Trebeck Street in Browns Plains.

Ten Minutes, one of the Nearest Centres to Forestdale

Forestdale has limited long day care centres of its own, so most local families travel, and we are about ten minutes away. Alongside the outdoor areas, our indoor rooms are bright and grouped by age, so your child is always in a space pitched at their stage. Doors open at 6am and close at 6pm, and there is parking on site.

We build a sense of community by fostering friendships, providing support to families, and through family involvement. The kids engage with the community through local schools, aged-care centres and other activities.

Growth

Our centre helps children grow their kindness, empathy and emotional awareness and regulation. They gain real-life, hands-on experience, physical development such as balance and motor skills.

Sustainability

Young people play an important role in caring for the environment. Our vegetable garden teaches children about food cycles and choices, and marked bins help them learn about sustainable waste management.

Ms. Liesl – Centre Director

I am Liesl, the current director at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. I have been working in the centre for 5 years. My qualifications include: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

As director at Ancora Kids, I am passionate about creating holistic, nurturing environments where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and thrive. At the heart of our philosophy are the values of Empathy, Compassion, and GRIT—Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity. I believe that when children are supported with love, respect, and opportunity, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, curiosity, and potential.
My teaching approach is inspired by a blend of Montessori and Steiner philosophies. I value providing hands-on, real-life learning experiences that build independence and practical skills, while also fostering creativity through play-based and imaginative exploration. I also embrace the importance of early exposure to STEAM learning and second language development as vital tools for the future.
I see families as a child’s first and most important teachers. Building strong, respectful partnerships with parents helps create a safe and connected learning environment, where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. My goal is to nurture children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, supporting them in becoming confident, compassionate individuals ready for the next stage of their journey.

Choosing a daycare is an important decision. Below are answers to some common questions parents ask:

Fees, Child Care Subsidy and attendance

How much time do children actually spend outdoors?

A large part of every day. Indoor and outdoor areas run together rather than in shifts, so children choose where they are for much of the session. On very hot days the timing of outdoor play shifts rather than being cancelled.

Is the outdoor area shaded?

Yes. Shade is built into the design, we monitor UV through the day, and hats are worn outside.

Which primary schools do your Forestdale children move on to?

Most commonly Boronia Heights State School, Regents Park State School, Yugumbir State School, Browns Plains State School or St Bernardine’s Catholic School. Our kindy program prepares children for Prep in general terms, so it works regardless of which you choose.

What are the opening hours?

6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

What will we pay each day?

After the Child Care Subsidy, most families pay a gap fee of $15 to $50 per day. The exact amount comes down to your CCS percentage and approved hours from Centrelink.

Can we start part-time and add days later?

Yes, subject to availability in your child’s room. Tell us what you would like to build towards and we will let you know when those days come free.

How do you keep track of what my child is learning?

Educators document each child’s progress against the early years framework and share it with families regularly, alongside the daily conversation at pick-up.

Is there parking available at the centre?

Yes, we provide on-site parking so drop-off and pick-up is quick and easy.
