A Short Drive, and an Easy Morning

Ancora Kids is at 5 Trebeck Street in Browns Plains, a short drive from Logan Central. Rooms are grouped by age and open onto shaded outdoor areas, so children move between inside and out through the day. Doors open at 6am and close at 6pm, with parking on site.

The social part of our program is based on our philosophy of fostering empathy, compassion and grit in kids. Our centre is a secure, caring environment where children build confidence and discover a joy for learning.

Health & wellbeing

We use play, song and stories to develop essential skills and teach children about health, hygiene and self-care. This includes choosing and making healthy meals, bathing, dressing, hair care, toileting and toothbrushing.

Community

We build a sense of community by fostering friendships, providing support to families, and through family involvement. The kids engage with the community through local schools, aged-care centres and other activities.

Growth

Our centre helps children grow their kindness, empathy and emotional awareness and regulation. They gain real-life, hands-on experience, physical development such as balance and motor skills.

Ms. Liesl – Centre Director

I am Liesl, the current director at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. I have been working in the centre for 5 years. My qualifications include: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

As director at Ancora Kids, I am passionate about creating holistic, nurturing environments where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and thrive. At the heart of our philosophy are the values of Empathy, Compassion, and GRIT—Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity. I believe that when children are supported with love, respect, and opportunity, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, curiosity, and potential.
My teaching approach is inspired by a blend of Montessori and Steiner philosophies. I value providing hands-on, real-life learning experiences that build independence and practical skills, while also fostering creativity through play-based and imaginative exploration. I also embrace the importance of early exposure to STEAM learning and second language development as vital tools for the future.
I see families as a child’s first and most important teachers. Building strong, respectful partnerships with parents helps create a safe and connected learning environment, where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. My goal is to nurture children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, supporting them in becoming confident, compassionate individuals ready for the next stage of their journey.

Fees, Child Care Subsidy and attendance

How far is it from Logan Central?

A short drive west to Browns Plains, with parking on site.

My child speaks very little English. Will they cope?

Yes, and they will not be the only one. Children learn language fastest in rooms where they are talked with all day. We use greetings and key words in home languages, pair children thoughtfully, and give them time. Keeping the home language strong helps English rather than holding it back.

Can someone help us with the enrolment paperwork?

Yes. Come in and we will work through it together at whatever pace suits, and bring a family member or interpreter if that helps.

Are families welcome to spend time in the room?

Very much so. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join in, share a song or a story from home, or simply sit with their child while they settle.

Which schools do children go on to?

Woodridge State School is the local primary, with Woodridge State High School nearby. Our school-readiness program prepares children for the Prep transition itself.

What will it cost us?

The daily gap fee sits between $15 and $50 for most families once the Child Care Subsidy is applied. If you are unsure what your Centrelink assessment means, bring it in and we will go through it with you.

Do you provide food, and can it suit our family's diet?

All meals are provided and cooked on site, which makes accommodating dietary and cultural requirements straightforward.

Is there parking available at the centre?

Yes, we provide on-site parking so drop-off and pick-up is quick and easy.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes, and we would rather you did. A tour takes about twenty minutes and there is no obligation attached to it.
