We ask families for the words, songs and celebrations that matter to them, and educators use them with your child, because children who hold onto their home language do better in English, not worse.

Ten Minute Drive, With Parking on Site

Ancora Kids is at 5 Trebeck Street in Browns Plains, about ten minutes from Marsden. The rooms are grouped by age and open onto shaded outdoor areas, so children are not stuck inside all day. We open at 6am and close at 6pm, and drop-off is quick because there is parking at the door.

Social Focus

The social part of our program is based on our philosophy of fostering empathy, compassion and grit in kids. Our centre is a secure, caring environment where children build confidence and discover a joy for learning.

Health & wellbeing

We use play, song and stories to develop essential skills and teach children about health, hygiene and self-care. This includes choosing and making healthy meals, bathing, dressing, hair care, toileting and toothbrushing.

Community

We build a sense of community by fostering friendships, providing support to families, and through family involvement. The kids engage with the community through local schools, aged-care centres and other activities.

Growth

Our centre helps children grow their kindness, empathy and emotional awareness and regulation. They gain real-life, hands-on experience, physical development such as balance and motor skills.

Sustainability

Young people play an important role in caring for the environment. Our vegetable garden teaches children about food cycles and choices, and marked bins help them learn about sustainable waste management.

Ms. Liesl – Centre Director

I am Liesl, the current director at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. I have been working in the centre for 5 years. My qualifications include: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

As director at Ancora Kids, I am passionate about creating holistic, nurturing environments where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and thrive. At the heart of our philosophy are the values of Empathy, Compassion, and GRIT—Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity. I believe that when children are supported with love, respect, and opportunity, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, curiosity, and potential.
My teaching approach is inspired by a blend of Montessori and Steiner philosophies. I value providing hands-on, real-life learning experiences that build independence and practical skills, while also fostering creativity through play-based and imaginative exploration. I also embrace the importance of early exposure to STEAM learning and second language development as vital tools for the future.
I see families as a child’s first and most important teachers. Building strong, respectful partnerships with parents helps create a safe and connected learning environment, where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. My goal is to nurture children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, supporting them in becoming confident, compassionate individuals ready for the next stage of their journey.

Fees, Child Care Subsidy and attendance

How far is Ancora Kids from Marsden?

About ten minutes, roughly 7km, with parking on site.

We speak another language at home. Will my child fall behind in English?

No. Children who keep their home language do better, not worse, and we build on it rather than working around it. Mandarin and Auslan are introduced to every room, and we ask families for the words, songs and greetings that matter to them.

How is Auslan taught to children who can hear?

Through everyday signs used alongside speech: greetings, please and thank you, colours, animals, feelings. Children pick it up quickly and it gives them a second way to communicate before they can write.

Do you cater for halal or other dietary requirements?

Meals are cooked on site, which makes accommodating dietary and cultural requirements straightforward. Tell us what your family needs when you enquire and we will tell you honestly what we can do.

Which schools do children go to after kindy?

Marsden State School and Burrowes State School are the two local primaries. Our school-readiness program prepares children for Prep at either.

What will I pay after the Child Care Subsidy?

Most families pay a gap fee of $15 to $50 per day. Your CCS percentage and approved fortnightly hours from Centrelink decide the exact number.

I'm not sure I'm eligible for CCS. Can you help?

We can explain how the subsidy works and what your assessment means in practice, though the claim itself goes through Centrelink via myGov. Bring what you have to a tour.

Is there parking available at the centre?

Yes, we provide on-site parking so drop-off and pick-up is quick and easy.

Can I bring my mother or another family member to the tour?

Of course. Plenty of families make this decision together, with grandparents doing some of the pick-ups.
