Fees, Subsidy and Sessions, Explained Without the Runaround

Childcare pricing is confusing by default, so we try to be plain about it. You book the days you need, we arrange sessions around the hours in your Child Care Subsidy entitlement, and the Subsidy is paid straight to us. What you pay is the remaining gap fee, by direct debit, and for most families that lands between $15 and $50 a day. Bring your Centrelink assessment to a tour and we will work out your real weekly number rather than quoting a range.

Park Ridge families are welcome from 15 months through to the kindy year.

A Straightforward Run North, and Parking When You Arrive

We are at 5 Trebeck Street in Browns Plains, a short drive north from Park Ridge. Inside, age-grouped rooms open onto shaded outdoor areas built for climbing, digging and riding. Doors open at 6am and close at 6pm, and there is on-site parking so drop-off stays quick.

Health & wellbeing

We use play, song and stories to develop essential skills and teach children about health, hygiene and self-care. This includes choosing and making healthy meals, bathing, dressing, hair care, toileting and toothbrushing.

Community

We build a sense of community by fostering friendships, providing support to families, and through family involvement. The kids engage with the community through local schools, aged-care centres and other activities.

Growth

Our centre helps children grow their kindness, empathy and emotional awareness and regulation. They gain real-life, hands-on experience, physical development such as balance and motor skills.

Sustainability

Young people play an important role in caring for the environment. Our vegetable garden teaches children about food cycles and choices, and marked bins help them learn about sustainable waste management.

Ms. Liesl – Centre Director

I am Liesl, the current director at Ancora Kids Browns Plains. I have been working in the centre for 5 years. My qualifications include: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

As director at Ancora Kids, I am passionate about creating holistic, nurturing environments where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and thrive. At the heart of our philosophy are the values of Empathy, Compassion, and GRIT—Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity. I believe that when children are supported with love, respect, and opportunity, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, curiosity, and potential.
My teaching approach is inspired by a blend of Montessori and Steiner philosophies. I value providing hands-on, real-life learning experiences that build independence and practical skills, while also fostering creativity through play-based and imaginative exploration. I also embrace the importance of early exposure to STEAM learning and second language development as vital tools for the future.
I see families as a child’s first and most important teachers. Building strong, respectful partnerships with parents helps create a safe and connected learning environment, where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. My goal is to nurture children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, supporting them in becoming confident, compassionate individuals ready for the next stage of their journey.

Choosing a daycare near Park Ridge is an important decision. Below are answers to some common questions parents ask:

Fees, Child Care Subsidy and attendance

How long is the drive from Park Ridge?

Around fifteen minutes depending on which end of the suburb you start from, with parking on site.

How does the Child Care Subsidy work?

You claim through Centrelink via myGov. The assessment returns a percentage of the fee that is subsidised and a number of fortnightly hours it applies to. The Subsidy is paid to us, and you pay the remaining gap fee.

What's the gap fee?

Usually between $15 and $50 a day. Where you sit in that range comes down to your subsidy percentage and approved hours, and we can estimate it with you on a tour.

How are fees paid?

By direct debit on a weekly or fortnightly basis, two weeks in advance. Casual sessions can be paid at the centre.

My work hours change week to week. Can bookings be flexible?

Sessions are set around your CCS hours and we will work with a pattern rather than forcing a five-day block. Permanent bookings hold your place; casual availability depends on the day.

Am I charged for public holidays?

Yes, if the day falls on your child’s regular booked session, because the fee holds the place rather than paying per day attended.

Which schools do your Park Ridge children go on to?

Park Ridge State School, Parklands Christian College and Saint Philomena School, with Park Ridge State High School from Year 7. Our kindy program prepares children for Prep generally rather than for one school’s version of it.

Is there parking available at the centre?

Yes, we provide on-site parking so drop-off and pick-up is quick and easy.

Can we tour on a weekday morning?

Yes. Mornings are the most honest time to visit, when the rooms are full and the program is running.
